Spinning Wheel, Russia, mother, child, black and white, Kizhi Island

In Lake Onega, in the far north of Russia is Kizhi Island. Most of this small island is an open air museum for old structures from throughout Russia. In one of the old farmhouses, the art of using the spinning wheel is kept alive, and as you can see here, passed on from mother to daughter.
