Oggoh-Oggoh #8

During the weeks leading up to Nyepi, the Balinese new year, each temple’s social organization throughout the isle builds a paper mache image of a demon which will be paraded the night before Nyepi on the shoulders of the temple’s young men and then traditionally burned. Naturally this has become a bit of a competition resulting in many of these Oggoh-Oggohs being well over 20 feet tall and either immensely fierce or fiercely humorous.
